Welcome

Dear all,

Welcome to this virtual space for sharing and discussing ideas about censorship.
This first blog is meant for your reflections on the relationship between writers and censors, or broader, intellectuals and the state, and between different groups of society.
Make sure that you don't simply repeat the content of the texts we were reading and discussing in class, but provide your own interpretation of these texts. Alternatively, you can discuss a text of your choice (it must be an academic publication - a book or an essay), if you find it more useful for your future project. Please include weblinks/references to the chosen text in this case.  Try to relate your analyses to the situations of censorship in your regions - are they similar or different from what we read about Russia and South Africa, and how?

Look forward to reading your posts,
Ksenia
